Brainwashing

Teaching is often acculturating.  Most sustainable cultures acculturate their children.  Children tend eventually to adopt the religions and politics of their parents or significant peers and teachers.  After a number of years of acculturation (indoctrination?), it is very hard to reorient a person's worldview.  Unless, that is, the person's ego is on a weak foundation, or the person has learned how to think for himself or to be receptive to new ways of reconciling ideas.  It may be nearly impossible to teach a person to think for himself unless he was raised in such a way, before his basic orientation solidified. 
This is why I think a lot of people from liberty-illiterate cultures cannot ever be fixed to become liberty-literate.  What value is a belief that is only regurgitated, unthinkingly?  Why should I care what a person claims to believe, if he has never subjected his belief system to any kind of rigorous testing, or if he is intimidated from ever engaging with any such a test? 
Regardless, I think the good news is this:  The idea of an inviting godhead makes reasonable, innate sense to every informed analysis.  As does the idea of what is needed to sustain a decent republic that avails freedom and dignity for its citizenry.

They are tolerant of everyone who does not disagree with them. And who helps tear down the representative republic.
They tried to do this to Trump. They did not anticipate that he would have means and fortitude to play their crap against them.

You cannot reach people who think they have answers in all details to all the important questions.  You know, like carbon bankers, wazoo regulators, gun grabbers, snowflakes, and entitlement minded wussies.  The only people who think that way are the enormously ignorant and/or corrupt.  Those, you cannot fix.  But I respect your effort.  When I detect intelligence, I respond in kind.  For the ignoranti/corrupti who think they have all the answers. I see little point in giving them the time of day.  Before they ban you, just have your comment copied and then repost it in a more intelligent blog.

The media owners want to bring Trump down. They like journalists who help with that. They will reward those journalists, so long as they keep a sufficient fig leaf to cover their impropriety. Our America-hating Oligarchy has become a despicable, deranged blight against humanity. Yet they call Trump deranged!?

In the War of the Mud, it was the Oligarchs and their Tools that fired first, not Trump. They were the pigs, firing from their mud hole. Having no shame, they thought no one could or would wade out to confront them. From their mud hole, the shameless pigs called others, pigs. So Trump grabs them by the ears and takes them stammering and squealing, wee wee wee, mud boarding them deep in their own mud hole.
Which is filthier: Trump pushing the Oligarchic Pigs deeper into their mud hole, or the Oligarchic Pigs doing all they can at every turn to destroy the republic? Soooey!

Well, do you know what a vow is? Do you vow that you are of any belief system? Do you attest you are an atheist? Are you dramatic or passionate about your profession? Do you pine for a day when everyone will attest to being an atheist? Do you think those who do not pose as atheists tend to be vulgar?
To me, an avowed atheist tends to be someone who likes to take a public vow or stance against the letters G o d. A militant atheist is someone who wants to use group force (as in the case of laws or riots) to erase monuments to belief systems they seek to replace with their own leaps of faith.
Do you think you're on the scent of discovery? Are you seeking some kind of "aha" moment?

What I love is a society that defends the freedom and dignity of its members. For that, some things about Canada and the U.S. are admirable, and some are not. I do not admire the willingness of many Canadians and Californians to enforce pc with criminal punishment.
You might also suffer from a distorted or overly literalistic belief about the god you say you don't believe in.
I don't believe in an old guy in a long beard, either. To me, the Trinitarian Godhead is what reconciles the fluxing expression of qualitative Consciousness, measurably manifesting Substance, and accumulating Information. (Do you believe in consciousness, substance, and information?) For substance, matter is stored information, while energy is transmitting information. No expression of substance is entirely matter or entirely energy, but a mix.
In practice, Atheists tend to indulge their own leaps of faith about moral connections and reconciliations (good faith and good will), but they have a fetish-like aversion to the letters G o d. Also, a metaphysical belief that banishing the sequential use of the letters G o d would result in more happiness and fewer conflicts. I agree, it's not a fancy belief, just a simplistic one.
Do Canadians need more hugs? The thing about churches (forums for assimilating community good will) is that they tend to dispense hugs and help assimilate feelings of moral purposefulness. Which tends to help strengthen and preserve societies and nations.

Are you an "avowed Atheist?"
I agree that most avowed Atheists tend not to be patriotic.

I understand that those who claim statements must be either true or false must be defining statements in a context that excludes broad moral statements. However, even then, I doubt they are as rigorously correct as they imagine. For a non-trivial statement to be true or false under an explanatory model, the model itself would generally need to be complete. However, most, if not all, non-trivial models are incomplete. That said, for many practical tinkerings, it works well to take some statements to be "true" and others to be "false."
Just as other math-verses can be imagined in which their empirical observations would not hold, our own math-verse may flux and phase shift, so that old values for absolutes change. (Some imagine that the speed of light may shift over time.)
My participatory concern for moral statements is contingent on this: I test for what seems to be needed to establish and defend a decent representative republic. I think too much multi-culti, polygamy, Islam, and power in oligarchs is corrosive to that desire (purpose). I think traditional families, assimilating faith (Great Commandment and Golden Rule), and civic fidelity are essential, but they are being undermined.
To be moral, a person needs to become human --- not sub-human. He needs to enjoy enough individual freedom and dignity to become responsible for his choices and actions. He needs to become strong enough not to need to shout down invited speakers or run to safe spaces. He needs to tolerate and find joy in other people becoming individually competent and free. He needs to become intolerant of poison that would harm himself, his family, his republic.
Human trafficking is such a poison. As is Islam. As to Gays, I could care less. But I don't think Scotus was right in allowing them to force the nation as a whole to recognize gay marriage. I think that is not a healthy way to strengthen a representative republic.
I don't pretend to know whether the Godhead wants all nations to become representative republics. But if God wants the U.S. to remain one, then I think He is available to our faith, intuition and empathy to guide us to do our part to help that purpose.
If you have a worldview about whether or not nations should seek to become republics, then it will, at some point, entail leaps of faith about what is moral or conducive to that purpose.
Does the Godhead change his mind? Yes, I think so. I think there is feedback part-icipation. Continuous reconciliation. In that respect, we participate as moral agents. Apart from Good Faith and Good Will, I don't believe morality, in specific applications, exists by itself, in a vacuum.

One can also think he is an atheist, even as, in many of his choices and actions, he faithfully serves the Godhead. Ayn Rand, David Deutsch (not Danny Deutsch), and Isaac Asimov SAID they were atheists (or agnostics). But I share much of their thinking, which, from my interpretation, seems quite spiritual. And also, in many ways, not inconsistent with various metaphors as taught by Jesus.

Whatever individual desires I personally may not approve of, I do not attribute to the Almighty as absolute rules. I am not strictly speaking an absolutist or a relativist. I think the injunction to Be Empathetic is an innate absolute. I think it is experienced and interpreted from each subject perspective, subjectively. So, there is ongoing feedback between the absolute and the relative. Like a flux of the Changeless-Changer.
Consensus is sometimes possible when the necessary ingredients come together. For awhile, the U.S. had a consensus that could more or less support a representative republic. However, that is unraveling (for which I severely castigate Progs), as that consensus is undermined by race-baiting, non-assimilating, multi-culti, and as they are farmed by international oligarchs now in control of most institutions of persuasion and indoctrination.
If the U.S. for awhile was suitable for a representative republic, it is losing that. Many other cultures and nations never did become suitable. I don't believe it is moral to try to impose democratic values on non-suitable cultures. Neither do I believe it is moral for people who seek to escape non-democratic societies to come to America to try to turn it into the kind of society they found it necessary to flee.

It may have been cute for awhile for Progs to delude themselves to think their worldviews are not faith based, but it has become cloying and annoying.
To imagine that Prog SJW/Critical Social Studies/Warmism/Open Society-ism /Entitlement-ism/Socialism/Scientism/Race-Baiting/Islamophilia/MarryYourGoat-ism/50 Gender-ism is not as faith-based and authoritarian as most literalistic Religions is the height of self-delusion.

If your system of morality is relevant, then it at the very least ought to help sustain a society, to help that society defend itself from depredations of international corporatists and human traffickers.

If people can be "just as moral and ethical without organized religion in their lives," then how is it that the Progs with such a worldview tend to fall behind oligarchs who want to replace our representative republic with an open bordered, open society? If goodness is only what facilitates an individual's subjective gratification, then goodness is only assimilated among groups to the extent they use the power of each group to facilitate the gratifications of its members. Such inculcation facilitates a constant tendency for warring and re-aligning between and among groups. As in the case of race-baiting. Such inculcation tends to define the desires of an individual as being mainly constricted to the perimeter of his skin or his allies of convenience.
But why should any individual's perspective of consciousness be conceptualized as being mainly constricted to his body, as opposed to identifying with a wider system of interests? What should an individual desire, and what should be the wider extent of his interests? How is that concern responded to, without respect for, reference to, and inspiring guidance and inculcation regarding, more encompassing interests?
When should an individual forego his own immediate desires in order to facilitate his identification with more encompassing interests? How unlikely is civic mindedness to become inculcated in an individual, using a philosophy of morality and goodness that does not extend much beyond servicing individual desires? How long can a decent society likely endure, when its members seek mainly to service or justify only their own desires?
Among Lefties who are willing to allow the destruction of their nation's borders, how many adopt that mindset to justify (rationalize) their own unwillingness to serve much that is higher than themselves? How many are content to groom their children to perversions of adults? How many are willing to allow the destruction of a government of, by, and for the people ... so they can feel good about themselves? (Even when they were nurtured by that government from the blood of patriots that was shed to establish it.) This is "moral"?

As to sexual orientation, gays have been tolerated for quite some time now.  What is now being weaponized is not bias against gays, but gays against the culture.  Scratch a militant atheist, find a militant gay.  Who deludes himself that his program will survive confrontation with a more militant strain of mind enslavement:  Islam.

First, they just wanted to be understood and tolerated.  Now, they want not only to be celebrated, but to be able to punish all who decline to join their celebration.  Along their merry way, they seek to replace the First Amendment with the PC Amendment:  No one shall speak ill of rampant sexual expression of all kinds, except on pain of punishment, assessment of fine, and forfeiture of pension and belongings.

They want your tax money to be spent to indoctrinate grade school kids.  They want to groom children in much the same way the pushers and tobacco sellers groom kids --- except they want the gov/law to provide the enforcement goons.  They do not care whether their program for normalizing deviancy may unravel the institutions that have assimilated the wider society. 

So long as they serve their sexual predilections, they do not care whether they corrupt youth or flood the electorate with wussies and liberty-illiterates.

In effect, gays are used by oligarchs that want to replace the republic with the worldwide cheap labor farm and pc scientisimists.  Most of them seem to be down for that.  Had they succeeded in electing Hillary, the republic and the First Amendment would, in main, have been lost by now, in all ways except its name.

I don't care what gay adults want to do among themselves.  I do care when they want to groom children and undermine institutions important to preserving the republic and the Bill of Rights.

Equality

In terms of how to devise a devise a legal system that is best for any particular society, I admit that I'm not able to get much at all out of what you said. 
Maybe you should write it out in more detail.  Then, if you in fact do have an empirically or logically provable, non-trivial truth about how a best legal system should function for all societies and cultures, submit it to peer review.  See how many line up to say, yup, that's the truth. 
Meantime, for an ideal, I'll stick with rule of law equally applied, rather than rule of WeKnowTheTruth experts.  Subject to wisdom enough to know better than to try to make the perfect the enemy of the good.

There is no such thing as a non-trivial model or explanation that is perfectly consistent, coherent, and complete. We don't experience any measurable thing-in-itself or particle-in-itself. We only experience fluxing appearances, that we measure by resorting to models. And our models DO often serve astonishingly practical purposes, to help us construct other models that are practical to other purposes, perhaps to bootstrap us, sometimes by making myths into near truths.

Read Deutsch's The Beginning of Infinity. I try not to butt my head against infinite regresses. I don't indulge a leap of faith to search for provable, absolute, non-trivial truth. I indulge a leap of faith to search for a model or ideal that seems most consistent, coherent, and complete ... to my innate intuitions and empathies. Some may agree with me, some not. But I believe I tend to know the difference between searching for truth versus hiding from it.
A dollar may buy more for some than for others. For qualified people, it may buy admission to certain schools, institutions, or clubs. But, for many purposes, a dollar will buy much the same. A contract may more likely be enforced for some than for others. Still, people find value in entering into contracts. An executive order may be more enforceable according to its terms for some Presidents than for others --- depending on the resistance of an antagonistic oligarchy. Which fluxes, and cannot be put into a truth bottle.

I agree that perfect equality before the law is factually false.  But I think it tends to be of value as an Ideal or Model. 
Very little of causation or legal relationships as we mortals experience them can be described to factual perfection.  Yet, we find it worthwhile to rely on Models -- for pursuits of Science, Morality, and Law.  To replace the ideal of equality before the law with an ideal of judging as God would judge would be to ask too much of any mortal.  Often, It may be more important for justice to be seemed to be done than for justice actually to be done.  (Yes, I intentionally altered the usual quote.)

On a meta level, consciousness is consciousness. On a mortal level, "all people should be equal before the law" is something a proponent of a decent and representative republic should say. It has to do with rule under a framework of law, as opposed to rule under despots over minutiae.
In that respect, I believe in the Golden Rule and the Veil of Ignorance. But I apply them differently from most Proggies. To love your child as yourself is not to give him everything you have, but to help him learn how to become responsible for himself.
I believe in tough love. I don't believe entitlement-teaching is "love." I do not believe in trying to impose perfect equality in results, but I do believe each person should try to respect what seems to him/her to be the unfolding concerns of the Reconciler.
I think human freedom and dignity necessitates that each and every subject adult learn to take subjective responsibility for his/her own pursuits, raising his/her own family, and preserving his/her own values, culture, and republic.
I believe the existence of a Source of Higher Mindedness is a Reality, under which all mortals are subject. But I believe the last thing that Source seeks is to make every human being an equal replica of every other human being. Or to dictate minutiae of diets, dress, and ceremonies. I loath the tendency towards hive-mindedness of incompetents, losers, perpetual infants, wussie-people, and conning parasites and moochers.

The Left wants to bury humanity. Bury mindfulness, gender, family, nation, responsibility, work ethic. Once we're all safely underground, we'll be as equal as dirt.

War on Drugs

Mayhem creates a lot of tempting opportunities for well-placed people in the nexus between human vices for sex-drugs-violence.  
Our CIA in Laos used Air America to help launder drugs to pay for anti-communism activities.  Our leaders had also used Batista to funnel drug money to fund the CIA.  Then trained Cuban exiles to try to topple Castro at the Bay of Pigs.  When those exiles returned to Miami, they had skills for trafficking in drugs.   That set up the Medellin, Cali, and Noriega drug lords in South America.  Add the Contras and Oliver North. 
The Cold War, funded for the CIA with drug trafficking, led to the War on Drugs.  Which led us to godless cynicism, whereby CIA agents, Border Patrol personnel, and likely persons at highest levels in our government, promoted the drug trade even as they postured against it.  Perhaps this carries over also to the sex, violence, and arms trades.  How many have been to Lolita Island?  How much of this Skull and Bones thuggery goes unmolested, because the participants on all sides know too much about where the bones are closeted, the bodies are buried, and the teenyboppers are being molested?
I think most Americans are somewhat innocent.  But our leaders have not been innocent.  And most Americans who have dumbly empowered our leaders are not innocent, merely because of their ignorance.  IAE, the consequence of the corruptive nexus with sex-drugs-arms has been to put much of the world on fire.  Alas, Babylon.

Soros

Popper's idea of openness and tolerance did not entail tolerance for every culture.  Popper was quite concerned about not poisoning the idea of tolerance with tolerance for the kind of totalitarianism that would destroy tolerance.

The process of replacing one model of morality and governance with another is not a process of science or betterment, but a process of choice that entails innate empathy versus enmity.

The idea of moral betterment is not enhanced by substituting an idea of diktat by knowitall fake scientists of morality, i.e., Nazis, Feminazis, Muslims, and Soros-nauts.  To substitute weknowbetter moral scientism for the freedom and dignity of individuals is to poison the very free exchange of ideas that Soros pretends to champion.  To see the consequence, just look at the anti-Republican shout downers, pretending victims, manufactured outrages, and vile name calling and violence of the hate filled Left, through its stoolies acting as hammers for their Kool-Aid dispensers.

The idea of open borders, without regard to boundaries of republics, is mind-grease for converting from rule of law to rule of international thugs of oligarchism.  It is an idea of a worldwide plantation to be run by despots for farming herds of people.  It is monstrously disrespectful of the assimilative will of people, families, groups, cultures, and nations.  By importing massive numbers of blood suckers, liberty-illiterates, and thuggish people-farmers, it would kill every decent representative republic.

The so-called supremacist ideology of good Americans is not one based on race, gender, age, or origin.  It is based on a fundamental choice to honor the freedom and dignity of individual, liberty-loving, freedom-competent Americans over the people-farming ideologies of phony moral scientisimists.  If the rainbow coalition of codependent wussie people and their armies of corrupti and ignoranti do not like that, they can sulk, rage, loot, and act out.  But they will be punished for it.  They will either be defeated by Americans, or they will be defeated by killing the very host whose blood they wish to suck dry.

Soros knows as much about morality as he knows about common decency.  Which is to say, he knows nothing.

I agree that we need to switch from income taxation to consumption taxation.  The only problem I have with the Fair Tax is that it is too linear.  It would do nothing to address the biggest challenge today to the representative republic:  The fact that most representatives work more for the oligarchy than for the citizenry.

The fact is that oligarchic wealth tends to snowball and agglomerate as it acquires control over all the institutions of politics. Whatever the oligarchy pays for in taxes, it tends more than to make up for in extractions of political favors. Whatever the poor extract from the gov, the oligarchy tends to pass on to the producing workers. In effect, the various gangs of parasitical SJWs mean to redistribute poverty to the middle class in exchange for despotic power to the oligarchy.
Because this produces little and drags a lot, it tends to the social detriment of everyone. The need is this: To privatize productive work by freeing industriousness, without freeing crony oligarchs to protect their perch by shackling the masses. This requires insight into phase shifts, beyond linear thinking. Ever more linear agglomeration of wealth into the hands of a few self-selecting self-godding political-moochers is not always a good thing.

Might it make more sense, ideally, not to tax domestic businesses on income or profits, and instead to tax the individuals to whom salaries or withdrawals are paid, but only on their personal consumption (broadly defined to include personal purchases, personal investments, personal charitable and political contributions)?
If we want individuals to save more, then tax consumption, not income. If we want more production to come from businesses instead of gov, then don't tax businesses on their productive operations. if we want a more productive society generally, then don't turn a welfare safety net into a hammock. If we generally want less gov, more production, and less consumption, then don't tax productive work, but do tax personal consumption.
If we don't want an oligarchy to be able to consume gov and destroy representative republicanism, then tax the oligarchy on its use of wealth to consume political influence by treating all lobbying expenses as if they were the taxable consumption of the agent who authorized it. If necessary to bring the oligarchy under control, make the tax on consumption progressive.
The oligarchy loves the tax on income, since it pulls up the ladders on potential competitors. Replace the income tax with a tax that reaches wealth by taxing consumption.

No new central manmade law should be crafted except in respect of how to eliminate other laws. People who lobby for special legal favors that are designed only to enrich a few or some special new minority of snowflakes should be reviled and taxed out the wazoo.
People who get rich by special pleading should be taxed on their personal consumption, progressively. Otherwise, it is an iron law that they will launder their ill gotten lucre by buying favors from politicians and governments, and they will eventually in effect own and operate the government.
Then they will find ways to widen the gulf between the masses and their power and wealth, even without increasing the net production of the society. They will do this simply by finagling with the institutions that control the fiat money. No republic that fails adequately to defend itself against such natural corruption can long survive.

For the powers that run the gov, it's far less important to enrich the general society than it is to preserve their perch.

As I watch Marxists, Muslims, and Money Muckers make Americans angry with their antics, I wonder why they persist. What do they know that we don't? How can their constant antics for making Americans angry be a profitable tactic?

Well, they know it's more important to inspire and fire up a few extra-motivated losers and diversionarys than it is to avoid angering the general masses. Keep the losers inspired and feeling aggrieved, with diversionary news constantly devoted to that purpose. Keep the grievances in the news. Ferguson may not convict innocent police, but it will pay blood money. Ditto across the land. RADICAL GENITAL HEADS: Conservers of Liberty tend to look to God and ask what is needed to sustain a decent representative republic. GUITEAU: Charles Guiteau was a member of a group-marriage Utopian sect, whose members generally rejected him. He embarrassed his father and was considered insane by the community's founder. His wife considered him dishonest, and he left Boston under suspicion of theft. A psychologist diagnosed him many years later as a psychopath. To argue that he was in any way a principled Republican would be the height of nuttiness.



The man Guiteau shot, Garfield, was, a bit like Trump, an anti-boss-oligarch. Guiteau's mindset, if alive today, would be of the sort to try to eliminate Trump. This is because science cannot very well factor that which was not selected. That is the job of moral judgment. As an organizing "principle," so-called "scientific" group hedonism (fake enlightenment) neglects what is necessary to raise children to become the next generation of responsible citizens. Somehow, no-harm-no-foul Libs seem always to forget about (or forfeit) the children, i.e., the generation that will be taxed to clean up their mess. Indeed, they are hardly willing to procreate. There is nothing in being black (or any other skin color), per se, that disallows a person from becoming superior in intellect, physicality, and virtue. Rather, the problem is with how the gene pool has been generally filtered. (To consider how rapidly this can alter a human gene pool, compare the history of dog breeds.)
Nor is there anything, per se, that disallows any immigrant from becoming a valued, free-thinking, competent American. Rather, the problem is with how our controllers are generally filtering the applicants.
When poor filtering of genetic and immigration pools is not sufficiently and generally opposed, every representative republic is endangered. Atheism is a faith-based stance that there can be higher (meta) mindedness without a spiritual (meta) connection. Every choice made by a perspective of consciousness is based in some aspect on a leap of faith under higher axioms.
