Well, the writer reinforces an ongoing alert. However, the supposed "cure" is pollyannish. There is no "free market" once a vibrant middle class is rendered politically impotent. Economics simply merges with politics, crime, and skirmishing among organized criminals over spheres of influence that have little to do with national boundaries. I do not take skirmishing among organized criminals over spheres of influence to be a "free market."Your "cure" merely excites small business Kulaks to run between rounds of mortar fire being lobbed by opposing gangs of Rino corporatist wolves and Dino unionizing wolves. If we allow to be killed the traditions and institutions that defend the idea of America, as an independent territorial oasis for individual liberty, then the "free market" becomes a cruel hoax.
The only power that can sustain the idea of America is faith in a Higher Consciousness (aka, God, even if you don't want to call it that), which promotes empathy for the separate dignity of each receptive perspective. This is higher than faith in materialism or heaven on Gaia. It is the opposite of abject surrender of individual thinking (i.e., Islamofascism).
No amount of clever checks and balances, constitutionalism, legalism, or materialism can sustain or defend dignified freedom of enterprise in the absence of inculcation of respect for a higher source of empathy. As we lose respect for God, so also shall we lose the idea of America. There is no law that is stronger in iron. As we disrespect that law, so shall we sink into a despairing world of the abused and the abusing.
Regain and restore respect for an idea of America that avails and defends national independence and individual freedom and dignity. Do not join with those who seek to profit by reducing America to the lowest common denominator or to the sort of sociopathic rule that is endured by most of the rest of the world. Instead, raise a light, to show the rest of the world a better way.
Human health, welfare, volunteerism, and dignity are better served by competition and cooperation among people of individual initiative and empathy than by the false promises and faux-caring of corporatists, unionizers, and their unholy renditions of Big Brother and Big Gov.
Modern Liberals have been misled to believe the lies of corporatists and unionizers, that small business, middle class, individualists (i.e., Conservatives) do not care about the health and welfare of the less fortunate. Modern Liberals have bought the lie that liberty must be sacrificed in order to spread health, welfare, and wealth. The truth is the opposite. Modern Liberals are Little Red Riding Hood, being deceived by the Big Bad Wolf, dressed in Granny's clothes. Shame on every leader of every institution who facilitates this charade! Shame!

I don't know whether your stance leans to atheism, but I tend to agree with your sentiments. However, I think it inappropriate that many tend to over generalize from them. One need not consider being receptive to religious or spiritual intuition, insight, or appreciation as leading per se to organized affronts to human freedom and dignity. Yes, religion can be abused by abusers. But that is hardly basis for atheists to take all religion as being contrary to decent civilization. Nor is it basis for taking decent civilization as being best nurtured by sweeping all religion to the side.
For examples: I am not aware of Jesus ever indicating that arms or government should be employed to force anyone to be charitable or receptive to His guidance. Nor am I aware of Jesus indicating that priests, messengers, or intermediaries remain essential as go-betweens in order for one to be receptive to His guidance.
Rather, those who share a belief that there exists a Higher Consciousness for reconciling our needs to compete, cooperate, and communicate share a self fulfilling means for pursuing such reconciliation. Such persons tend to promote institutions for charitable volunteerism. It is when they surrender their own responsibility for making thoughtful, conscious choices and take other mortals as having superior authority or responsibility before God that they tend to fall into gravest error. Repressing one’s own responsibility to think and be receptive to higher guidance, merely to surrender entirely to the whim or will of mere mortals, gangs of governors, or interpreters of sacred scripts is antithetical both to human dignity and to godliness.
However, those who do not entertain any belief in a Higher Consciousness of good faith tend, as a desperate alternative, to rely on artifice of force and deceit, inculcation of envy and avarice, and indoctrination in legalism and hierarchy.
These people tend to promote servitude to the “right” (contractual, legal, or divine?) of supposed superiors (academics, corporate and union bosses, Imam’s, etc.) to rule. These superiors are supposed to know best how to mediate towards that which is for the greater secular good (of Jihad or Gaia). This complete and willing servitude, regardless of whether to corporation or cult, is unspeakably inhuman. It constitutes abject surrender of human freedom, dignity, and moral responsibility to totalitarian and indecent syndicates of gangsterism.

I suppose one may have faith that the Utilitarians want only to spread brotherly love. I happen to find that faith misplaced.
Rather, I suspect some sort of Iron Law causes sociopaths and malignant narcissists to evolve to the top of the Utilitarian food chain.
And I suspect the S's and N's who float to the top are extremely skilled. Skilled enough to fool useful idiots and make pretty women faint (or at least appear to faint).
However, I also believe evolution is tempered by intuitive, conscious respect for a higher Source of empathy.
That is, faith in Something more powerful than mere evolutionary materialism. That faith will come around again, and the balance will be reset. Problem is, if America falls, that cycle may take a millennium. In any event, I want a better inheritance for my children.

Pravda, anyone? Polonium? How long did it take Western Nations to
learn about the extent of the atrocities by the Nazis, Stalinists, and

confirm even the existence of Cosa Nostra? There is a science to
bending minds, and its practitioners have been around a long time.
Why is it that people incline more to believe in Hillary's vast right
wing conspiracy, 911 Truther's b.s., and disinformation circulated by
Leftists? Perhaps it is because a big part of the base for leftists
consists of easily duped people who believe cheap promises about how
Obama will use his "stash" to make their lives better. There people are
easily thrown off the scent of any leftist or real conspiracy or
unfolding of shark frenzies (whether Rino or Dino) because those
conspiracies and confluences tend to be exposed by those who want to
promote individual awareness and responsibility.
But the leftist base does not want individual awareness and
responsibility. It wants to be fed and entertained, and it believes
demagogues for the secular state when they make pretty women swoon and
promise to do that. Just because Michael Moore's shenanigans are shown
to be nonsense does not mean that confluences of opportunists do not
exist for cornering markets, crowding out ordinary Americans, and
reducing the gullible and the weak to sheep to be shorn.
Key is to learn to think for yourself. Not just to look for hypocrisy,
as if hypocrisy of others somehow justifies your own. Think like a free
American.

Excellent reminder. It's sad that such reminders are needed, because the truth of what you say is in the very definition of the modern liberal.
The modern liberal is trained to want to be cared for by the government, regardless of what any free thinkers may think.
For the modern liberal, security and equality (often equality in misery) trump freedom to think.
The modern liberal would just as soon be a well fed zombie, or a member of a night pack of ravening dogs.
The very organization of state run agencies, whether state-regulated corporations or state-regulated unions, promotes zombie mind-parasites.
Nearly every person who holds a position in the globular liberal organization has learned to purse his lips to those who occupy the superior Pavlovian position; free thinkers need not apply.
BY DEFINITION, liberals cannot stand the scrutiny of any thinking bystanders; thinking bystanders are deemed "anti-organization."

Just imagine being on Obama's official or unofficial cabinet and trying to defend any position based on respect for individual intellectual honesty. Hah!

Caution: In classical sense, modern "liberals" are not liberals, but dolts and fascists against liberty. They share an interest in intrusive governance with Islamofascists. Because of demographics, birth rates, open borders, p.c., and tolerance for what may easily kill us all, we are not in the end days of liberal fascism, but in the early days of global fascism. We have a global problem, but it's not about warming. The demographic trends of all of Europe are shocking. The efforts of prostituting representatives of both Europe and America are treasonous. The unfolding fascism will certainly be intrusively dehumanizing, and will likely be horrendous. Hardly anyone in power holds dear the interests of free-minded, middle-class, independently-industrious Americans. Except for addicts and zombies, this is the worst time to chill.

I'm trying to comprehend why Europeans (and next Americans?) continue so patiently to empower leaders who tolerate the obvious overrunning of their history and culture.
Is it because their minds have been diverted and addled by years of expert indoctrination from Marxist power players?
Is it because expert pushers have addicted their brains to insatiable appetites, which must be fed by selling out everything that is less dear?
Is it because they have grown soft, complacent, and ignorant, from being too long under the protective umbrella of the American military?
Is it because they have failed to see a demographic trap until too late?
Or is it because Islamists and Mind Criminals have already put in place means of inflicting unspeakable carrots, sticks, and horrors upon key politicians?
The danger is obvious, much more so than AGW.
In fact, the danger may be increased as a result of contrivances of AGW.
So why are not the most obvious of antidotes being administered?
Elites have to work really hard to learn so many things that just are not so. Next they'll be horning in on refinancing time share agreements and sending us congratulations: "You're a winner!"
There's an endless supply of Madoffs', and many of them moonlight as politicians and their academic apologists. You've got to be really smart, smart enough to outsmart yourself, in order to be stupid enough to buy into the Admin's policies. And to vote for these people.
Give them a few more years and they'll convince the entire world to strap a suicide belt onto all of civilization. Compared to Liberals, for stupidity about how to immanentize the eschaton, Islamists are pikers.
Who are the people who are not concerned or afraid of this cynical, divisive, race-baiting, evil-appeasing, nation-destroying administration?
Are they the callow and uninformed? The sell outs? The ones who think the stink of corruption will pass if we just ignore it?
For goodness sakes, what informed, intelligent, experienced person honestly thinks our PRIORITIES at this time should be: Gay marriage; massive amnesty for illegal aliens; card check for empowering union thugs; p.c. to prevent effective profiling of terrorists; ending "don't ask don't tell in the military"; ensuring taxpayers fund partial birth abortions; substituting the Gaia God of cap and trade carbon regulations and unconstitutional general welfare regulations in order to seize other people's property and massively undermine traditional sources of moral instruction; and substituting Big Gov for traditional charities?
What informed, intelligent, experienced person honestly thinks and hopes there is no great moral hazard in rewarding gangster style kickbacks and intimidation for indenturing ourselves to repressive regimes in order to spread and re-channel wealth? Who thinks we are on a path that will cause good change or a thousand flowers to bloom?
What informed, intelligent, experienced person honestly thinks a republic that continues to govern itself and spend as we are can sustain itself for more than a very few years?
The best thing the administration can do is to resign. Its heads will not do that. So the best thing we can do is to render them and their misbegotten, b.s. priorities just as ineffective as we possibly can. And to replace this mis-begotten, un-American gang of ne'er do wells just as very soon as we possibly can.
Let's be clear: The admin is not out to praise or preserve America, but to so change her as to bury her. And to usher in a new millenium of totalitarian torment against every free thinking person of individual conscience.
Because they know best. Like hell!
If Obama truly wanted to strike fear in the hearts of Islamists, he would restore respect for American style power and independence.
He would do this by:
Rewarding excellence and free enterprise over indolence and Big Gov.
Restoring the integrity of America's borders.
Promoting colleges and institutions for the respect of, and the assimilation to, enduring American values over multi-culti anarchism and destruction of family values.
Replacing his cabinet and czars with decent Americans of common sense.
Teaching how to earn self respect over how to demand payoffs and reparations.
Restoring American energy independence.
Shutting off valves for enriching regimes that want to bury us.
Respecting and supporting America's defenders, CIA, military, police, and allies.
But Obama is doing precisely the opposite of all of those things. What should that tell us? It tells me he values totalitarian control over the commune far more than he values individual liberty.
Well I’m quite sure that Obama sincerely wants all members of the non-ruling class to live out their days in equally commodious cages.

This means it's ok to lie routinely, in order to "save the planet," in whatsoever respect elites would define or judge as necessary to save the planet, science and democracy be damned. This means it's ok to remove political power from nation states and place it in the hands of corporate elites, advised by favored academics not too proud to lie. This means it does not matter if that portion of the middle or professional class that is accustomed to freedom of thought and speech is placed under the supervision of kulak eliminating or dhimmi imposing Big Mullah or Big Bro. This means, unless you're the lead dog, the view is always the same. Welcome to change you can smell. Ahhh, how sweet this philosophy for fascist thugs and liars is! It's not evil.
