The Education of a Progressive:
Regarding truth in advertising and warranties: What is the main purpose that should drive education? Is it (1) to improve the lives of others, or is it (2) to facilitate temporary good feelings and highs among participants? If (1), then warranties would help diminish the ranks of snake oil artists.
If (1), then with hands on supervision, some can be satisfied with learning rote, mechanical, or productive trades -- and some cannot. Some can be trained further, to develop interests and capacities for lifetimes of exploring science or acquiring wisdom -- and some cannot. Apart from needing labs, those who reach that stage have more need for parlay among peers, but often less need for private tutoring. They can teach themselves from readily available resources in libraries and on the internet. If they lack such ability, they may well be wasting their time and money.
For those who have such ability, much of the gigantic cost of higher education seems wasted -- unless there are offsetting factors and purposes, such as learning mores for being accepted into a pack network for promoting members. Has the leading role for education become that of teaching wolf pups how to make the signs and compromises that are required in order to find their places in a party for managing and thinning the collective herd, as needed? How is it that wolves readily discern and promote their own?
Upon reaching beyond “how’s” and into moral “why’s,” one crosses from the science of materials into the wisdom of choices. There is no science of “best moral choices,” although there is wisdom to be acquired. Even so, there is money to be made in convincing dupes otherwise. That money vests in creating self interested institutions that lobby to require that only their certified graduates in “sciences” of art, education, psychology, sociology, politics, and law can be licensed or recognized for practice in their various vocations and professions. (Slogan: “science will win.”) The consequence is that aspiring workers and herd animals have no choice, if they wish to become licensed, but to pay to have others fill their minds, often with tripe.
This forces people to endure agenda-driven training camps, well into adult lives. This presents opportunities for political organizers, collectivists, activists, and those wolves who fund and use them. Philanthropists who endow education programs and pay lobbyists can mold and collect aspiring workers -- like dolls for dollhouses. It’s a way to reinforce feelings of security about one’s place in the pack.
Perhaps the best example is in the field of education, which has become more akin to a field for indoctrination into social collectivism (i.e., big gov entitlementarianism to do your own diversified thing so long as its “green”) -- minus higher or assimilating values. After all, who are more docile and less protected against being fleeced than those who have been prepped to accept Big Gov?

It may not be important to Obama whether he remains the face of big government, so long as individual freedom of expression and enterprise are safely locked away. Obama does not care whether Big Sharia, Big Communism, or Big Elite Oligopolists put down the American middle class, so long as it is put down. Once the American middle class is politically neutered, "science" will resolve the remaining differences between BS, BC, and BO.
BHO and everyone he has appointed and surrounded himself with is a menace and a a disgrace to human decency. He has his collectivist, communal faith, and he does not care in the least whether Americans are in favor of his program. If they are not, he will simply keep the borders open and keep inviting miscreants until he gets an "electorate" that is consistent with his mission.
Read "Witness," by Whitaker Chambers. The more things "change," the more they are consistent with the early 2oth century. Obama and Hillary, whether they know it or not, want goals that are consistent with nothing less than "making the world safe" for ending individual freedom of mind. A dangerous meme or system of mind parasitism in their upbringing, peers, experiences, and Ivy educations turned them into moral despots, so that down is up and slavery is freedom. They are beyond picayune politics. They want nothing less than fundamental change, i.e., a collectivist collar on everyone.

Well, sloppy philosophy has invaded our government and eaten many of its minds. If government wore a suit, it would be for a slob. American governance would be falling out and splitting seams in all places. The task for those who would conserve our republic is to re-impose boundaries on government. We must button up government, “pull its pants off the ground,” and restore its moral compass.
It is of prime importance that we secure our territorial borders and our sovereign independence. We must not become infiltrated by, or dependent upon, the favor of despots who would choke us on our own addictions. Those Progressives (i.e., material Marxists and pagan religious fascists) who belittle territorial boundaries or limits of decency would confuse all distinctions until we had surrendered all liberty.
In all institutions, we must reaffirm and revivify the moral value and responsibility of each American. We must translate expressions of plural views through a culture for assimilating common and meaningful values. We must do this in entertainment, education, trade, business, law making, mores leading, philosophy, and patriotism.
In short, those who lead our institutions must be re-schooled by Conservatives to respect the exceptionalism of the "the Idea that is America." We must at least slow the wormwood that is spreading under collectivist philosophies of faux morality -- that promote security above personhood, diversity above decency, brain above mind, matter above spirit, and state above God.
A message needs to be conserved: That, in our technological conceits and empirical “advances,” we need to remember and respect decent choices about that which is worth defining, measuring, and preserving. After all, that which we choose to observe, define, and measure tends to become that which we are.
The enslaving enemy of decency, representative republicanism, human dignity, and individual freedom will not quietly withdraw. The ranks of the enemy are too filled with the easily duped, the easily bribed, the morally compromised, the narcissistic and psychopathic, and those who rationalize serfdom and rule under wise and "scientific" elites. We will need means by which to deplete their power. In time, we may bring to bear laws against sedition and for seizing and forfeiting the wealth and power of seditionists against America.
The bottom line is that America cannot last much longer if she continues to host inassimilable and alien philosophies of mind-numbing, collectivist-submission, whose agents are zealously hoping to "change" and replace the Idea of America.
Simply put, in their bones, modern Progressives are Marxists, and Islamists are subhuman, indecent zombies. Both are incorrigible enemies of the American Idea. They cannot be easily fixed; they have to be defeated. The alternative is the death of human freedom and dignity. I don't think liberals have in mind a variety of cultures, languages, races, and talents so much as they have in mind a non-judgmentalism about a "diversity of values" --- as in Pleasure Values uber alles -- for kinky sex, polygamy, release from familial responsibilities, free drugs, insults to "the man," destruction of border laws, and indoctrination of school children into godless justifications for doing your own thing, regardless. In short, the replacement of values of life with pleasures that pay homage to destruction and death.
This kind of diversity makes us "stronger" only if your goal is to unravel foundations of society. When that is your goal, then weakness becomes strength. That kind of annihilation of assimilating family and social values is not restricted to liberals. It applies to libertines of all types -- liberals and libertarians alike.
If we would preserve foundations for decent or meaningful society, we require either a system of laws or its cousin, a system of assimilating values. Insofar as we deconstruct values, if we would not unravel into diversified anarchy, we have no choice but to replace family values with a state-enforced system of Rube Goldberg laws.
Has there ever been a sustainable society run by libertines? To fall for the philosophy of libertines is to fall soon into despotism. Destruction of assimilating values by promoting "diversity" is precursor not to an idyllic society, but to a Marxist plantation, to be farmed by absolute despots.
If America is to survive as a relatively free and representative republic, it is not only the progressives and liberals who need to get a clue. Libertarians also need to take off the blinders, set aside a few immediate gratifications, and pay attention to what is needed to sustain a flourishing civilization.
I suppose gene therapy, to make us stronger, would entail the invasion of every extant organism with a diversity of new genes -- to make it stronger. BTW, what do Progs mean by "stronger?" Stronger relative to what? Progressive relative to what?
