The New Racists

The New Racists:

Ed Koch believes Obama is orchestrating distortions against Israel. So, are those who disagree with Mr. Koch, a Jew, racists (as in Jew-a-phobes)? It is not for me to judge the souls of NYT style Dinos and Rinos (Ainos). But I do judge their appearances, and they do appear to leave the sort of droppings one might expect of amoral zombies. As to higher moral purposefulness among Ainos, is there any there, there? How can anyone reasonably expect that Ainos who believe in no higher purpose will ever set aside base interests and consent to be guided by higher principles when it comes to casting their political votes? So long as the middle class continues to abandon effective politics to Ainos, how can our politics ever amount to anything more than professional wrestling (with all profit proceeds going to owners)? Until the middle class gets disgusted enough to decide to become a potent, principled, political force and to demand accountability, both from Dinos and Rinos, all one need do is follow the bi-political money -- as it turns the Ainos it bites into moral zombies. It may be interesting to look to who owns the NYT and what their long term financial interests are.

Re: thinking about Obama's 47 percent.
My managerial experience is rather limited: Army detachment commander, special weapons platoon leader, enlistee, 32 years practicing law, of which only 9 were in private practice. So what follows may strike many small business operators as rather naive, if not unworthy.
I think much of Obama's extensive base is hard corps; it has been conditioned and driven to perceive itself as needing to be protected and as being entitled to be protected. Its members perceive those who "feel their pain" as being natural providers of that protection. I have been in trial against as many as five board-certified personal-injury attorneys at a time, each of whom could cry on cue and whenever it was deemed profitable. Some have made it a point to let me see, even on the eve of trial, that they are regular contributors to the local judge.
Much of what drives a jury's verdict is not what is factually presented, but what is seen to be emotionally presented. Engineers tend to be more objective minded and fact based. That's why a personal-injury plaintiff's attorney will hardly ever fail to strike an engineer during jury selection. Because engineers are better able to keep sympathy at bay and decide cases based on facts. This is also why engineers tend to be Conservatives.
I'm certainly not suggesting that personal injury clients' stories are not heart wrenching. I'm saying their counsel generally know how to direct a script that tends to extract the most profit (and wealth spreading) -- unless you knew a way to defeat it. You do not defeat such scripts merely with facts. You have to tie in a story that makes your facts appealing. We will not salvage much of Obama's hard corps base without giving that base an emotionally satisfying reason to find the Conservative narrative appealing. We are not going to change its members' feelings of victimhood and entitlement merely by reciting cold facts. We are going to have to give them an emotionally satisfying narrative, help them see its power, and show them that we really do care about their opportunities to access its power.
When Obama's base sees that businesses want its poor only so cheap labor can be harvested, that is a much more counterproductive message than Obama's message: that he wants their voting power. This is why is abjectly STUPID for Republicans to advocate for lax border enforcement.
In any event, Conservatives will not win over Obama's base by calling their leaders' ideas stupid. Conservatives and Republicans will have to (1) really care, (2) show they care, (3) without bribing for votes. We are going to have to show Obama's base that they should vote for Conservatives because (1) it is the right thing to do, (2) they will feel better about themselves and present a better example for their children for having done so, and (3) we will respect them for doing so, and we will heartily welcome them. We must actually and actively invite them along paths that best lead to their success --- not in grifting for handouts, but in achieving self respect for having earned their way.
Example: When a Conservative operated small business does not find that an interviewee matches its needs, it may help at least to invite him to consult about compatible opportunities that may exist locally with other businesses. Exercise human outreach; don't just close doors. IMHO.
