Identity Politics

(Click title above.)

Identity Politics:

If being American means anything, it means respecting a common ideal that, notwithstanding endemic instances of favoritism, with hard work, self reliance, enterprising application, and enlightened empathetic grounding, every citizen has a reasonable chance to fulfill and contribute to a worthwhile life.

To be American, however, is not to entitle every possibly contrived minority to be supported by fellow citizens in lifestyles of adolescent sloth, decadence, or familial irresponsibility. And, to be American does not mean that any American, on account of color or origin, is owed, or “owes," reparations or legislatively detailed fairness to any other on account of experiences or interpretations of wrongs of bygone generations.

No doubt, there are philosophies, societies, nations, and cultures that espouse contrariwise. However, those who share such beliefs would do well to emigrate, because such beliefs are antithetical to what is most fundamental to American culture.

While the “dominant culture” of America often shows favoritism, it does not exclude from success those who take American ideals to heart. All things being relatively equal, it could be appropriate to take needs of diversity into affirmative account. But simply because there are “different ways of perceiving the world” is hardly reason for Americans to “change” an essential element of what has facilitated America's greatness.

No logic, science, or philosophy “proves” that “different ways of perceiving the world” should be allowed to shove aside or replace the American way. Rather, to imply the contrary is insulting to Americans, who are insulted by notions of reparations based on no reasonable limit to all manner of identity politics.

Note to identity panderers, victim mongers, and race baiters: You have a choice: Learn self reliance, or remain mired in ridiculous, adolescent, self pity.

No responsible American I know feels the least obligation to support wallowing in self pity. And few among liberals seem willing to actually part directly with their own time or money just to mollify individual grievance mongers.

ENOUGH! IT IS LONG PAST TIME FOR GRIEVANCE MONGERS TO GROW UP!

For “DIS-EDUCATION,” not education, see http://academic.udayton.edu/race/02rights/repara.htm :
“Opponents of reparations have been intolerant and even insulting to reparationists, evidencing an overt disrespect for their position. That intolerance was created in an Ethnocentricity Laboratory, which recognizes "one way" which is by popular acceptance "the right way." Opponents of reparations should understand that there are different ways of perceiving the world, and that those different perceptions, in this case the African-American consciousness, can have a profound impact on the analysis of the issue of reparations.”

OF FAIRNESS:
Well, should “civilized fairness” consist in equality of chains or in equality of opportunity?

COMMUNITY ORGANIZERS MANIFESTO:

(Note: “Proportionately diversified” means equality of representation in race, gender, age, orientation, religion, culture, nationality, weight, height, physical looks, and athletic and mental abilities.)

In respect of our sacred environment and global warming, Community Organizers may wish to consider regulating and rationing time and resources, so that, each day, no one is allowed:

ENVIRONMENT:
1) to use water utilities except on the day of the month most closely corresponding to one’s birthday;
2) to drive any vehicle not equipped with a governor for precluding speeds in excess of 55 mph;
3) to drive any large car without having at least one large passenger;
4) to spend more than 15 minutes on the toilet and 3 squares of tissue;
HISTORY:
5) to attend any class on American history that does not begin each day by offering apology for America’s sins;
REPARATION:
6) to deny first dibs to historically oppressed minorities for every new opportunity;
7) to deny welfare or require work for any member of an historically oppressed group identity;
8) to attend any level of training, education, college, or professional schooling that is not proportionately diversified (in race, gender, age, orientation, religion, culture, nationality, weight, height, physical looks, and athletic and mental abilities);
9) to employ any staff or work force that is not proportionately diversified;
CULTURE:
10) to sing the National Anthem at any event, unless equal opportunity is afforded to all cultural interpretations;
11) to resist any religious or cultural inclination for undermining and destroying America;
ESTEEM:
12) to dress more expensively than neighbors can afford;
13) to post anything on the internet that anyone else finds offensive;
14) to have any community deny free condoms, drugs, and tennis shoes;
15) to police in any way that diss’es minority gangs or homeys;
16) to forego mental counseling and anguish medication on account of any disappointment, set back, or unfairness ever encountered;
17) to urge anyone else to change their ways (because such is hate speech);
18) to tell any child “no” in any way hurtful to self esteem;
POLICE:
19) to be charged with any crime that disproportionately affects any race, gender, age, orientation, culture, or nationality.

BTW: In terms of reparations, are such not already paid, in respect of: founding a nation that has come to be America; sacrificing 600,000 lives in a civil war to end a practice begun by others before we became a nation; and pulling Western Civilization out of a fascism that otherwise would have ruled the world? Do coins of reparation have a side for expressing gratitude?

“Just a preview of what's to come. Liberals always eat their own eventually. When the Messiah is no longer of value to them, they will toss him aside like trash. Like they did Bill Clinton. And while it's gratifying to see such figures finally humbled, the problem is that the greater leftie cause of forwarding Creeping Socialism continues to get worse.”

Quote snippets from http://www.americanthinker.com/2008/08/why_im_thanking_god_for_obama.html:
As Pope Benedict foretold in 2003, in his treatise on the sleeping ambitions of worldwide communism:
"Let us not forget that Marxism, as the one great political force of our twentieth century, made its appearance with the claim to be bringing a new world of freedom and of free people. This very promise of knowing the scientifically guaranteed way to freedom, and of creating the new world, drew to it many of the boldest spirits of our age; ultimately it even appeared as the force through which the Christian teaching of redemption could be transformed into a realistic practical means for liberation - as the force that could bring the Kingdom of God as the true kingdom of men. The collapse of realist socialism in the East European states has not quite laid aside all such hopes, and here and there they still subsist, silently awaiting some new form."
-- Pope Benedict XVI; Truth and Tolerance; p. 233

From http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20080810/pl_politico/12421 :
An analysis of surveys by the Pew Research Center for the People and the Press shows that a majority of whites are of two minds about affirmative action, with most supporting the idea of government programs that make “special efforts” to “make up for past discrimination” and yet most opposing programs that directly favor minorities and women.
When race and gender are removed from the equation, support increases dramatically: A 2005 Pew poll found that nearly nine out of ten whites reported support for a policy that would help Americans from “low income brackets” to “get ahead.”
….
In 1998 McCain did characterize a similar proposed anti-affirmative action measure in Arizona as “divisive,” though that proposal never made it on to the ballot. Over the years however, McCain has generally opposed affirmative action programs, and called for a new, economic-based system to replace the current race and gender-based one.
….
Obama, said Bickers, “could use it if he wanted to have his own Sister Souljah moment about affirmative action to redefine it in economic terms and that would play in to a post-racial candidacy."

Quote snippets from http://townhall.com/columnists/MikeSAdams/2008/08/14/salems_witch_trial :

Salem's Witch Trial
by Mike S. Adams

Dear President Jacobs (UTPresident@utoledo.edu):

I am writing today to ask for your immediate resignation from the position of president of The University of Toledo (UT).
....
It is now abundantly evident that you did not fire Crystal Dixon because she could not perform her duties at UT. You fired her because she disagrees with your political views and because she is interfering with your efforts to serve as a political lobbyist for the gay community.
....
I am also concerned that you have formed some radical associations in your capacity as a lobbyist for the gay rights movement. Your fellow gay rights activist Kim Welter of Equality Ohio told the Toledo Free Press that it is “unfortunate that someone (Mrs. Dixon) who works in Human Resources for the University of Toledo would publicly express beliefs more appropriate for her place of worship.” In other words, Dixon should stay around like-minded individuals and stay out of the public square where only secularist views should be aired.

Some think that Welter was saying “That Negro doesn’t know her place.” I disagree. She was probably only saying “Christians shouldn’t flaunt their lifestyle. They should just keep inside the closet.”
....
Before you resign as president of UT I want you to fire a clinical law professor named Robert Salem because, in my opinion, he cannot effectively perform his job duties at the university now that he has publicly expressed discriminatory opinions. The specific discriminatory opinion he expressed was the following remark to the Toledo Free Press: “(Mrs. Dixon) cannot effectively perform her job duties at the university now that she has publicly expressed discriminatory opinions.”

Unless Robert Salem is illiterate he is fully aware that Crystal Dixon did not express a discriminatory opinion. In other words, she did not advocate job discrimination. But when the learned Professor Salem said she should be removed from her job at the university, he was advocating job discrimination. And when someone advocates job discrimination, he should be fired.
....
After reading this statement, I’ve decided Robert Salem is also lacking the intellectual fortitude to serve as a professor of law: “(Dixon) has a right to her religious views and she has a right to freedom of speech, but the university has a right to have someone in that position that is going to comply with the university’s diversity policy.” Salem’s statement is problematic for two reasons:
1. Constitutional rights are given to individuals to protect them from governments. They are not given to governments to protect them from individuals.
2. Public trials are supposed to follow, not precede, accusations of wrong-doing.

COMMENTS:
MSM is not investigating Obama because it deems no investigation necessary. MSM already knows who Obama is. He is what they are — a sold out puppet, who will say anything for gain. He is the rot they have been waiting for.

After all, the same people running Obama are the same people who own and run MSM.

Working Americans, on whose backs American products and defense are carried, focused on earning livelihoods, have allowed rot, little by little, to come to bedevil every public institution.

Soon, there will be no choice but to confront the rot. Until then, during the next four years, we will be eating rot pie — and incurring an enormous price for it.

It is a rot pie carried high by Boomers, financed by Soros, et al, and dished by Obama and fellow travelers.

For all who have been clamoring, screaming, crying to touch a hot stove, it appears now we must let them.

Having ignored the pace of rot in our physical infrastructure, why be surprised at the pace of rot in our spiritual infrastructure?

Unraveling American Self-Reliance — Mexicanization of America:

http://www.newsmax.com/ruddy/ruddy_gop_survival/2008/10/27/144701.html:
For Republicans, changing demographics are worrisome. Minorities and immigrants like the idea of a big and benevolent government handing out benefits — the something-for-nothing boondoggles that the Democrats have reveled in since Franklin Roosevelt invented the concept.
If you give amnesty, which really means citizenship, to just 2 million or 3 million of the 12 million illegals here, the electoral map moves dramatically in favor of the Democratic Party. But there will be no reason why Obama and the Democrats won’t push for amnesty and citizenship for all 12 million.

....

Today, Texas is an anchor for the GOP nationally. But an Obama amnesty program will put that state solidly into the Democratic column. Florida and other smaller red states like Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico will become quite blue. Blue states, like California and New York, will get bluer.
