Beyond Charity

.
Once government takes over health care, what functions shall remain for charitable and volunteer institutions to perform? Mental health care? Shelter, comfort, counseling to purposefulness and job rehabilitation?  What will remain of social relevance for volunteer and church agencies of good faith?  How much can government take over, without pushing volunteer agencies and churches into irrelevance?

As government takes over health care, what functions shall remain the prerogative of charitable and volunteer institutions? Psyche health care? Spiritual health care? Shelter, comfort, counseling to purposefulness, job rehabilitation? What shall remain the relevant prerogative for individual good faith, volunteer work, and church agencies? How much can the central bureaucracy take over, without pushing volunteer agencies and churches into irrelevance? How much health care is healthy? Is forced care caring? Is tax funded care charitable? Are tax deductions for charitable contributions charitable? The ACLU keeps expanding the circle of government that is exclusive of (walled away from) religion. Now, churches may begin to realize that that the reverse of the wall argument will not be defended. Rather, restraints for preventing central government from swallowing ALL purposes and functions of churches and charities will be pushed to disorderly, dishonorable retreat. As atheistic socialism expands, so also shall expand the secular appetites of elitists who know best. Thus, churchfolk learn that socialistic atheists have no intention for offering free lunches. Indeed, the path to hell is paved with gullibles projecting good intentions upon hollow souls.

A representative republic will not sustain its freedom unless it continuously inculcates its citizenry with capacity to reason about what is necessary to sustain freedom. A citizenry that is easily stampeded by slogans posing as thoughts becomes mere cattle for shallow cynics, hedge artists, and sociopaths. A society conditioned to think its dis-assimilation into diverse divisions is a good thing will be easily stampeded into whatever corrals its rulers devise. Once the people think only in slogans, no candidate for leadership can appeal to a majority without espousing inconsistent slogans ("flip-flopping") at each stop. It then becomes an art form to repackage so-called flip flogs as consistent principles. The people become so mesmerized by the gotcha game that they become as children, incapable of being trusted to think intelligently about complex issues. Woe to the candidate who tries to reason in adult language to children trained to know it all in terms of slogans! At that point, the republic becomes representative in form only, and the crisis stampeders, hedge artists, and cronies take over. It would be an interesting experiment to follow a candidate who actually tried to talk in terms of ideas beyond gotcha games. Maybe someday we will become more skilled in detecting sociopaths and in restricting the right to vote to people who can actually think. Just don't hold your breath.

Obamanauts already know they're in a costume ball. Problem is, they love a costume ball! Remember the styrofoam Roman columns? Conservatives thought those would be a net negative for Obama. Were they? Or did talking about them just mark rubes who failed to appreciate the fun of a masquerade? It's not that the Left doesn't know a masquerade. It's that it considers it rude to lift masks at a costume ball. Tomorrow, Obama could admit Ayers was his mainstay in writing Dreams, and the LSM would yawn. Well, first it would go on a bit to write versions of satire about birthers and bookers. The people who are in on the take from a snake oil salesman know he's a snake oil salesman, and, frankly, my dear, they don't give a dam*.

Until Obamacare can be repealed, might Congress make points by sending up amendments? Amend Obamacare to require that it encompass treatment for political gullibility (as part of "mental health care"). Amend to require that state funded schools teach kids to recognize techniques of demogoguery. As examples for discussion, list: applying "cool" mob control techniques for freezing critical thinking (such as by appealing to foreign interests behind styrofoam Roman columns); promising transparency while hiring lawyers to hide background; preventing detection of fraudulent voters; suing states to prevent defenses against platoons of border jumpers; usurping to fire and hire heads of domestic corporations; funneling stimulus money to relatives and cronies; choking domestic energy production to enrich disloyal interests; bowing to non-friendlies; encouraging foreign non-friendlies to buy controlling interests in various means of mass persuasion (let the NYT count the ways its opinions and personnel decisions are not for sale); defending the path for cult run nations to adquire WMD; injecting massive doses of newspeak into state run education; leading a party that undermines families as institutions for transmitting traditionally assimilative values; devising carbon bank ruses for justifying central rule over every facet of life; putting national infrastructure and politics up for foreign auction; etc. Apart from Obama, has anyone shown more talent in the usages of demagoguery in order to establish an earthly fiefdom, as explicated in Alinsky's book?

Obamanauts do not believe in individual liberty and opportunity. They believe in the natural right and power of demagogues who serve various texts and paths of natural selection for ruling the fittest of group-thinking communities of secular and religious socialists. They have little philosophy but much history to support their argument. Historical determinism. So, Obama abhors any nation that presumes to defend an oasis for availing individual liberty and opportunity. Thus, America cannot be permitted to restrict the right to be elected President to natural born citizens. America cannot be permitted to defend its territorial integrity. Nor its family based integrity. Nor its industrial or economic integrity. Rather, America must be erased and replaced. There must be substituted a new, international, crony based system. We have not elected a President. We have elected a catalyst for transforming America and the world into a flux of cronyism, posturing as if it meant to serve our best interests. The message is: Save the planet! for cronies. Unfortunately, the "for cronies" part is not comprehended by know-it-all youth or faux-smart Libs.

What cracks me up is the notion that all would be well if only the Regime would return to free enterprise and foreswear further dives into crony capitalism. If only they would just practice "true capitalism"! Well now, that raises a couple of questions. First, why should anyone expect anyone who has sold out to crony capitalism to just give it up? Second, what person or institution of influence is situated to any dam* thing about it? If only, if only. There is no such an if. Vested cronies will not stop on their own good faith or good will, because they have none. There are a lot of people who absolutely will not stop in their programming unless and until they are told and made to stop. So, what means does decent society have, to make them stop? Crickets.

The constricted selfishness and cynicism by which many would replace god fuels the crony corruption that has always consumed capitalism, communism, and catholicism.
